“Om Ganesaya Namah Avahayami”
The first mantra chanted by the Pandit as the Griha Pravesh Puja commences as you embark on the divine experience of a Vedic Housewarming Ceremony.
Griha Pravesh Puja is performed to purify the home’s environment and protect your abode from the evil eye.
[contact-form-7 id="14022" title="Contact form 1"]In Vaastu Shastra, it’s believed that the home itself is a living being, which negative forces can inhabit and take shelter inside during vacancy – even if the home is brand new or rented. Along with the aesthetics of the house, the energy that fills this space is important to all of us.
Griha Pravesh Puja or Griha Pravesh Rented House Puja is performed to ensure peace and harmony and is believed to drive away negativeness from the building/premises. Lord Ganesha brings happiness, good health, and prosperity to you and your family. Griha Pravesh Pooja is a minor form of consecrating the space on an auspicious day.

History And Origins of The Griha Pravesh Puja
Hindus consider the housewarming or griha pravesh ritual crucial before moving into a newly constructed home. The custom of performing a griha Pravesh puja dates back to the Vedic era. The Matsya Purana, an ancient sculpture written about 7000 years ago, is where much of the practices and mantras of the griha pravesh pooja or housewarming Puja were derived.
According to the Hindu culture, empty properties are more likely to be surrounded by numerous evil spirits; thus, performing Puja rites ideally is crucial. And the entire process of purging the house of all evil spirits, which entails several ceremonies, is known as Gruhapravesam or “Griha Pravesha.”
The primary goal of this griha pravesh puja is to please Goddesses and Gods to invite them into your home to receive their holy benefits. In Hindu culture, the Griha Pravesha puja ritual is performed on a highly auspicious occasion. Therefore, the wellness of your family and the people within it is guaranteed by this house warming pooja. Additionally, you express your thanks to the deities for providing you with a place to reside by performing this griha pravesh ceremony.

Gruhapravesam / Griha Pravesh/ House Warming: Puja Procedure
We all know what Griha Pravesh is. When someone moves to a new home, they conduct a Griha Pravesh Puja ritual, often called house warming ceremony or griha pravesh, to cleanse the space and shield the dwelling from evil spirits. Keeping in mind the epidemic, most individuals choose an online puja, with the priest leading them through the procedure. Thus, individuals may practice their religious practices while being secure.
According to Hindu culture, Griha Puja can be of three types.
- When a family enters a brand new constructed house, they perform Apoorva Gruh Pravesh Puja.
- When a family enters a house that is purchased from someone else, Sapoorva Griha Pravesh is performed.
- Families who rebuilt their homes after massive damage, ask for Dwandwah Griha Puja to restore the positive energy.
Griha Pravesh’s procedure is elaborate for the Northern and Southern regions. We specialize in performing rituals as per the yajman’s regional tradition and language. Gruhapravesam ceremony persuades the Vastu deity. The priest chants Vedic mantras in Sanskrit or other preferred languages to evoke the blessings of Vastu Shastra during this event.
