The Vedic texts and Vedas indicate that Lord Subramanya at Kukke, Lord Shiva’s son, is the snakes’ protector. The scriptural references in Vedas mention that Vasuki, the snakes’ king, was protected from Garuda, Lord Vishnu’s bird, by Lord Karthikeyan.
